BEAR MAGAZINE EXPANDS INTO BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSTORES:
We're happy to announce our addition to the largest US bookstore chain Barnes & Noble. Starting with the Spring 2011 issue No. 74 (due out this March 2011), Barnes & Noble will join Borders, Waldenbooks, Bookworld, Priape, and many other retailers and distributors of BEAR. It's interesting to note that BEAR will be the first GLBT Bear-focussed magazine to be offered by Barnes & Noble. "It's truly a milestone as we continue to broaden our reach and target the largely undeserved masculine GLBT market", says Steven Wolfe, Editor-in-Chief.

When BEAR Magazine launched in 1987, it put a name to a growing gay movement that had previously gone unnoticed: the unshaven, hyper-masculine male. With a dramatic metamorphosis in 2008, it returned with a fresh look and a new direction to reflect the many levels of an emerging contemporary, mature, masculine, upscale market. The result is a GLBT lifestyle magazine that brings a crisp, modern look with a focus on real men: lifestyle features blended with humour and informative articles on today's interests, news, celebrities, politics, entertainment and style. All highlighted by beautiful and provocative images of the men we admire. BEAR is a celebration of unshaven, unapologetic masculinity".

WALTER VAN BEIRENDONCK SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION, MAY 9, 2010:
It was a first for cult designer Walter Van Beirendonck, who re-staged WONDE®, his spring/summer 2010 Paris men's fashion show, at the Berkeley Art Museum. Van Beirendonck, who was in town to be honored at the Academy of Art University, had never staged a fashion show in the United States before. Where normally he would utilize shaven men for his shows, he has caught the hair trend "bug" which is started to permeate the fashion world. May total masculinity NEVER end! BEAR MAGAZINE IN THE UPCOMING FILM "BEAR NATION", JANUARY 10, 2010:
Recently we were visited by Malcom Ingram, director of "Gay Bar In A Small Town", whose new film is called "Bear Nation". He and his film crew flew into Las Vegas to interview Steven Wolfe, editor, and Teddy Mark, creative director and photographer, for the film. Produced by LOGO TV, it will be announced during IBR 2010 in San Francisco, followed by a national tour and broadcast. (Photo, left to right: Steven Wolfe, Malcom Ingram, Teddy Mark)

WE'RE NOW IN BORDERS, WALDENBOOKS AND BOOKWORLD, OCTOBER 10, 2009:
We're pleased to announce our addition to Borders Books, Waldenbooks and Bookworld; two national bookstore chains. Beginning with issue 69 which features a hairy Zeb Atlas on the cover and centerfold, BEAR will join the two large chains for increased exposure and to further meet the needs of their bear customers.

Lazy Bear Weekend 2009 is one of the hottest, most attended, bear events in the country, fur sure! And this year is no exception with over 6000 attendees expected. Happening in Guerneville, CA on July 29-August 3, BEAR Magazine is pleased to be one of its sponsors and we are happy to support the good that it does as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 charity.

IBR 2009: BEAR Magazine recently sponsored and attended IBR 2009 in San Francisco. Steven Wolfe (editor), Teddy Mark (creative dir/photographer) and Simon Holland (customer relations) manned the booth in the vendor maul, with a periodic appearance of Tober Brandt, Bear Player of issue #66. Tober had a great time showing off for visitors and signing his centerfold. Other former BEAR Magazine & video models stopped by, such as Dominick from the Classic Bear video.
